Woman hospitalized after being bitten by marine life in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea

A woman was taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after she was bitten by marine life in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea officers mentioned According to Pompano Beach Fire Rescue the woman was possibly bitten by a barracuda and was treated at the scene before being transported to Broward Strength North Fire Rescue executives noted the woman had non-life-threatening injuries NBC spoke with several onlookers who announced the woman came out of the water with a bloody hand and was screaming I was sitting in my chair and a young lady started screaming loudly out of the water and she was swelling her arms and she was holding her left arm Diana Behrman revealed One of these guys ran out to help get her out of the water and then someone yelled for a towel because she bleeding pretty profusely Jayden Vann stated he had just been in the water swimming close to the woman who was in waist-deep water near the pier Something communicated me to come in and two minutes after I came in she was screaming for help Vann reported He then sprang into action She was screaming for help and I was the first one to pull her out of the water he explained The wound it was just a chunk out of her forearm Other beachgoers also rushed in to help and applied tourniquets with their towels before calling I saw her bleeding so I applied pressure and applied a makeshift tourniquet Besnik stated NBC was stated that the woman was conscious the whole time and although she had a nasty bite she is expected to be OK Her identity has not been disclosed
